About the Doctor
Dr. Darryl V. Smith, B.Sc., D.D.S., M.Sc.(Ortho),FRCD(C)
Dr. Smith was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He received his BSc. in Chemistry from Dalhousie University in 1993 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Dalhousie’s Faculty of Dentistry in 1997, before completing an MSc. (Ortho) at the University of Toronto in 2001.
Dr. Smith is passionate about orthodontics and, through continuing education, seminars and study clubs, is always up to date on the latest techniques. He is a member of several dental associations and organizations, including the Canadian Dental Association, Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Association of Orthodontists, Ontario Association of Orthodontists, Kingston and District Dental Association, and the Ortho Club. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
Patient comfort and confidence are very important to Dr. Smith. He endeavours to build a rapport with each and every one of his patients and their families to ensure that their concerns are addressed in a calm and supportive manner, ultimately leading to a completely positive orthodontic experience. His goal is to provide a fun and friendly environment for his patients, while delivering the highest quality of orthodontic care and creating beautiful smiles.
A busy father of five children, Dr. Smith and his wife are very active and enjoy attending their children’s sporting events, exploring the Thousand Islands by boat and travelling together as a family.
Dr. Smith is committed to giving back to the community through the support of local sports teams, charities and events.
